A while ago, a monk told me confidently that a spiritual guru who was well respected in my community, was definitely not enlightened. After this I got interested in what people meant when they were talking about enlightenment, so I asked anyone who reported being enlightened to talk to me.

There's another set of spectrums (would that be called spectri?) that relate to the ones you've outlined. I think of these as views on "How the world really works" and the indication of which view you has is revealed by how you would finish this sentence: "In the end it all comes down to... (faith) or (evolution) or (nature vs. nurture) or (education) or (dopamine) or..." To me these views might be the flip side to the enlightenment coin. I wish I had the answer...
