I made a google forms survey asking people a bunch of demographic information, and what they meant by the word ‘racism.’ I kept it simple and only gave three options – “Discrimination on the basis of race”, “Prejudice + power”, and “other.”
It's always a motte and bailey anyway. People who claim to define it as prejudice+power will turn around and apply it to some powerless kid who smiled at a protester. I'd really like to see more polls about concrete scenarios -- rape survey style.
