Well, I've read the suggestion that MtF trans might be about autogynephilia, and now I no longer find that plausible. Thank you for this awesome contribution to the discourse.
Fwiw, it still might be about autogynephilia! But we'd sort of *expect* that, if you assume that gender is to some degree sexually associated with your self conception. As in, it's possible cis women are "about autogynephilia" in the same way trans women are.
It seems like this could be the foundation of a curriculum. There's so much here to unpack. I've been learning about affect regulation and attunement; and specifically how attunement with one's care givers during the first 18 months of your life has a direct relationship with affect regulation as an adult. This is all tied up with trauma, which is largely caused by the caregivers in our lives not acting like caregivers (an oversimplification). Anyway...
I see a correlation since sexual arousal is a means of affect regulation...as can be work, exercise, entertainment, alcohol, drugs, religion, social situations, etc.
Just musing, but if you choose to dig into this with a group, count me in.
In a chatroom, someone challenged me on the questions I suggested for measuring autogynephilia. I cross-posted the chat response to my blog so that my official position would be available, but I thought I should also post it here, since your post references me: https://surveyanon.wordpress.com/2022/12/29/a-comment-on-measuring-agp-in-cis-women/
