I vote yes. On the upside, I think things like NaNoWriMo are often fun (plus helpful to the writer for strengthening brain writing muscles). Also it'd be fun to see a less polished Aella and to read interesting tidbits of sex research which maybe don't warrant an entire effortpost all on their own but are enough for a mini blog on one of these days.
The worst downside is I'm not super interested in some of the articles, so I skim and delete them for a month before you go back to your in-depth articles. Nbd. Certainly wouldn't make me feel spammed or like I should unsubscribe.
I love the quality and depth of your posts. That being said: I think it's worth running the experiment to publish shorter and faster for a time-limited period. It might give you permission to muse on things that are interesting but not worthy of full-scale treatment. Think of it as market testing: topics people respond positively to might warrant further development.
Aella, i don't know if you read your comments but if you do a critique of debating that I thought was really excellent. This line in your post really struck me: "It’s weird to be doing research on a topic beforehand with an active agenda? Instead of actually trying to find the truth?"
Slutcon sounds great! I wished you would organize one in Toronto.. I don't know why it never occurred to me before but sluttiness and nerdiness is such an incredibly appealing mixed to me!
I would enjoy seeing a post a day, even if they're tiny ideas or basically journal entries. I have a feeling the quality will turn out a lot higher than you expect.
I think daily posts are a fun experiment and good for long term growth. Maybe label them as an experiment each day. I have considered doing both daily and weekly labeled as such. I recommend try it and ask how it went.
I appreciate the intelligence and insight of your posts. If you can feed us similar, more frequent but less in-depth content ...so be it! The long content might be a more thoughtful take on your previous more frequent but less in-depth posts. What do I know? Only that you are super sexy and insightful! Thank you and wow!
I appreciate that every time your name lands in my inbox the quality has been high.
I think it is possible but risky to maintain that in a 1-per-day NaNoWriMo type exercise.
If they hit my inbox daily I won't read them, they'll become noise.
If a compilation went out at the end of the week, I'd definitely read that.
Something like "It's illegal to edit a day's work after midnight" ;-)
Don't compromise your work. That being said, post as regularly as you like.
PLEASE DONT DO DAILY POSTS! Stick with your usual high quality stuff.
If you're worried about the quality suffering, then perhaps something less extreme than a post every day, like a post every 3 or 4 days?
I re-subscribed just to be able to comment.
Aella,
if you read this, you are a glossy magazine, not a grubby broadsheet. Please keep your posts meaty and scarce, rather than sparse and frequent.

I will read everything, because
- I am hyperlexic;
- I have ADHD;
- I (now) have anxiety that now wakes me at 3am and needs to be drawn into something more captivating;
- and I am also a tremendous whore, in the loveliest and most self-respecting sense of the word.

I say go for posting daily in November!

if the one post a day are short posts and at first limited to november, I would like that.
you can always listen to feedback afterwards to know if that's something you should do more or less

What would these daily posts be about?
I think I would read all of it. I follow you on Twitter and like what you post there and would expect something similar here for the daily posts
Vote YES—i would be curious to read a less polished aella. And it's interesting to see what might come out the other end of this experiment
